On 28 February PLLC “GCERT BALTIC” issued a conformity certificate proving the compliance of Management system successfully installed and operated at SE Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (Ignalina NPP) in the sphere of decommissioning of nuclear facility, management of radioactive waste, management of projects and expert services in the field of nuclear energy with the requirements of International standard ISO 9001:2015.
The certification audit process, during which the following strengths of the system were noted: leadership and commitment to the quality management system demonstrated by management at all levels, direct involvement of top management in risk management, clear identification of all stakeholders and level of communication with them, clear and systematic retention of competences was completed on 8 February.
Assessment and confirmation of conformity proves the compliance of management practices of INPP with international best practice and constant improvement of management efficiency. Stakeholders can rely on the activities carried out by the enterprise within the framework of decommissioning of nuclear facilities and management of radioactive waste, as well as ensuring safety and quality of work.
ISO 9001: 2015 certificate of conformity gives the company the opportunity to integrate into the international market of project management and expert services in the field of nuclear energy. In European business practice, companies that implement and apply the ISO 9001 standard are considered as reliable and trustworthy partners not looking for short-term profits or benefits but focusing on long-term goals and quality.
It should be noted that the integrated process management system at INPP is developed, implemented, maintained and constantly improved not only on the basis of ISO, but also in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of the State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
