Protecting the INPP - the most advanced unmanned aerial vehicle interception system

In order to maximise the protection of the strategic nuclear facility against unmanned aerial vehicles, the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (hereinafter - the INPP) has purchased the latest unmanned aerial vehicle interception equipment. This equipment is designed to detect, identify and neutralise commercial and military UAVs by jamming navigation, video transmission and control signals.

"Current trends show that rapidly evolving unmanned aircraft technologies can be used both for intelligence purposes and to transport cargo that can pose a direct threat to people and critical infrastructure. The area around the plant is a no-fly zone, so the use of such equipment is particularly important to us. As technology advances, we need to ensure the full security of the plant and its people and remain one step ahead of those who would use UAVs for illegal purposes," said INPP CEO Linas Baužys.

The equipment was handed over to the Visaginas unit of the Public Security Service, which is responsible for the protection of the strategic site.
