Seminar on whistleblowers' protection

From 19th of November to the 10th of December, an online seminar was held for SE INPP employees on the topic of “Protection of Whistleblowers in Lithuania - Practical Aspects of Law Application”. It was led by representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Lithuania. The employees of the Enterprise were introduced to the institute of whistleblowers, the provisions of the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers were discussed, as well as the duties and rights of persons who reported violations in various institutions, the bases and forms of their legal protection, and measures to encourage and assist them.

Information was provided about internal and external channels for providing information on violations, methods of notification, necessary conditions for obtaining the status of a whistleblower. Representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office shared practical aspects of the application of the law, experience and statistics in Lithuania, practice applied in other countries, and answered questions from INPP employees. During the seminar, the internal channel for providing information on violations operating at INPP was presented and discussed.

The organization of such a seminar is an internal initiative of SE INPP aimed at strengthening the anti-corruption culture in the Enterprise, with a greater focus on education and training.
